Aramco, China's SEPCO close vital gas contract

(MENAFN) SEPCO, Chinese Shandong Electric Power Construction Co., has signed a deal with Saudi Aramco to construct a gas compressor station, based on reports.

This project comes as a part of the expansion of Saudi Arabia's main gas pipeline, in addition to other related schemes to meet the growing domestic demand.

The project, known as Master Gas System 2, will increase the system's volume to 12.5 billion cubic feet of gas a day (cfd) by 2018 from 8.4 billion cfd currently.

The original Master Gas System was constructed in the mid-1970s to gather and process associated gas from oil wells for use by variant domestic industries.
