Oman- OHRC, MoSD discuss MoU on persons with disabilities

The Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC) and the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD) held a meeting to discuss the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding signed on transfer of the monitoring file and the application of the terms of the International Convention for Persons with Disabilities.

The meeting, which was held at the OHRC headquarters, discussed the terms of the implementation of the memorandum. The two parties agreed on the importance of involving OHRC in specialised committees on the rights of persons with disabilities and formation of a working team. The team is concerned with the exchange of reports and information, develop a plan for the training of people involved in the monitoring mechanism, writing reports and preparing a special guide for that.
