Iran reinforces global ranking amid oil assets' rise

(MENAFN) Iran's overall capacity of hydrocarbon reserves has increased by one billion barrels, according to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).

The accumulated data showed that the significant increase was basically driven by the fact that the nation has discovered new reserves of crude oil and natural gas.

In more detail, the new crude oil and natural gas reserves have been found in central oil-rich regions of Iran, adding up to a total 157 billion barrels of oil reserves.

Moreover, total volume of Iran's natural gas assets has grew by 200 billion cubic meters to hit 33.8 trillion cubic meters , exceeding by 2.5 tcm the natural gas reserves of Russia.
