Toyota sets an example by applying solar panels in its structures

(MENAFN) Toyota will use solar panels on three parking structures at its Texas headquarters now under construction, which the automaker stated will deliver nearly 25pct of its power needs.

Accordingly, the 7.75-megawatt system will be the largest office-site solar installation in Texas among non-utility companies; hence it will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 7,122 metric tons.

Specifically, the world's largest carmaker is seeking high-level environmental certification for its new Plano, Texas, campus and using renewable energy on the site is part of that effort.

Toyota has used solar systems at its parts center in Ontario, Calif.; at the south campus of its Torrance, Calif., headquarters; at a Mississippi assembly plant; and at an Alabama engine factory.
