(MENAFN) The war on internal combustion engines is escalating, as Norway is reportedly arranging to ban them by 2025, based on the latest reports.
In more detail, Norway's four main political parties have fully agreed to stop sales of diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles over the next nine years.
Basically, the 9-year timeline is the most aggressive of its kind for such a policy, especially as it comes from one of the world's biggest oil exporters.
Moreover, whether or not Norway will prohibit the classic internal combustion engine as we know it in less than a decade remains to be seen.
However, the groundbreaking transition wouldn't actually be very dramatic as it seems or sounds as 24pct of the country's cars are electric already.
