4 suspects detained over Istanbul Beyazit terror attack
(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) >Four people were detained on Tuesday in connection to a terror blast in Istanbul's Beyazit area that killed 11 people and injured 36 others, police officials said.
The attack by a bomb-laden car, which targeted a police vehicle and killed seven policemen and four civilians, was carried out at 8.40 a.m. local time (0540GMT), said Istanbul Governor Vasip Sahin.
Police have evacuated the area surrounding the blast, and the injured have been taken to nearby hospitals.
