U.S. delivers USD 3.6 worth of mapping equipment to Lebanese Army
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, June 7 (KUNA) -- The U.S. delivered USD 3.6 million worth of sophisticated mapping equipment to Lebanese Army, U.S. Embassy in Lebanon announced on Tuesday.
The statement said that the equipment is aimed to improving the army's ability to plot terrain, which will enhance its planning capacity and ability to protect soldiers targeting extremists on the borders.
The statement stressed U.S. support to the Lebanese Army in protecting its lands.
The U.S. has presented Lebanon with security aid worth USD 1.4 billion since 2005. (end) ayb.nfm
