Oman- Two experts join Apollo Hospital

Apollo Hospital's plans for introducing an array of specialised departments are already underway with the hospital welcoming two specialists to the team.

Having recently launched their official hospital status last month, Apollo Hospital Muscat upholds their commitment towards patient care and healthcare planning in the sultanate with their newly appointed gastroenterologist Dr Yahia Said and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr Harshwardhan Jadia.

'With changing lifestyles and urbanisation, health problems are on the rise making medical specialisations the need of the hour. The addition of Dr Yahia Said and Dr Harshwardhan Jadia to the Apollo family will help our patients and add immense value to them,' said V T Saileswaran, managing director, Apollo Hospital Muscat.

Dr Said passed out from the University of Algiers Benyoucef Benkhedda in 2008.

'My experience involved daily outpatient clinic treatments for a wide spectrum of gastrointestinal and liver diseases, inpatient care of digestive ward patients, emergency management of upper GI bleeding and management of other digestive disease emergencies, preparation and monitoring of patients undergoing liver transplantation, animation symposia and congresses and the practice of instrumental proctology and abdominal ultrasound,' explains Dr Said.

With over eight years of experience as a gastroenterologist specialist physician in Algeria, Dr Said has received specialised training for his field from France.

Dr Jadia, oral and maxillofacial surgeon, will focus on offering dental implants, minor surgical procedures related to oral and facial cysts, wisdom tooth surgery, traumatic dental injuries, dental treatments and facial surgeries.

"I completed my BDS in 2007 followinga three-year MDS course. I havealso completed a one-year fellowship in cleft lip, cleft palate and orthognathic surgery at Jubilee Mission Medical College Hospital, Kerala, after which I started my private practice,' says Dr Jadia.

With over four years of experience, Dr Jadia's specialisation in the field of oral surgery and dentistry has seen him performing dental major surgeries, dental minor surgeries and dental treatments in India.
