UAE- Three accused of robbing Dh150,000 from school

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Two Yemenis and an Egyptian, together with a runaway accomplice, are facing the charges of breaking into a school and robbing Dh150,000 and Dh100,000 worth of jewellery in the Court of First Instance.

The three men, aged 50, 29 and 55, allegedly broke into the school using sharp tools at night on May 14, 2015.

The school's accountant, a 45-year-old Pakistani, said that he was driving to the school in Al Muhaisnah, Al Qusais, at 6.30am when he received a call from the Egyptian security guard.

"He told me that my office's door was broken. Later, I realised Dh140,000 was stolen from the safe which was opened by force."

He added that the thieves also robbed his jewellery which he had kept in the school after taking the administration's permission.

"The jewellery was worth Dh100,000 and I left it there as it was safer than my own place."

The thieves also stole Dh10,000 from a drawer.

"We caught them on May 29, 2015, after they robbed another school in Bur Dubai," a police sergeant said.

They confessed to having split the money after reaching Ajman where they stayed.
