KHARTOUM, 5th June, 2016 (WAM) -- The UAE Embassy in Khartoum has overseen the distribution of food aid from the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for disadvantaged people in Sudan on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

An official source at the Khalifa Foundation said this aid comes as implementation, under the directives of the wise leadership, of the annual Ramadan programme, which has allocated more than 60 countries to receive aid during the Month of Ramadan. The official said that the aid allocated to Sudan within this programme totals more than 20 tons of miscellaneous food items, which is sufficient for more than 4,570 families.

Hamad Mohammed Humaid Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to Sudan, said that the UAE Embassy in Khartoum has implemented a plan and programme to make sure the delivery of this support reaches those who deserve it.

Beneficiaries of the aid expressed their thanks and appreciation to the UAE leadership and its people for their continuous humanitarian gestures.
