7,000 Palestinian prisoners are currently held in Israeli jails, ministry


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, June 5 (Petra)--A total of 7,000 Palestinian prisoners are currently held in Israeli prisons, including 450 children, according to Palestinian Ministry of Prisoner Affairs.

The ministry said in a statement on Sunday that 41 male prisoners have been held for more than 20 years including Karim Yunis, who was arrested in January 1983. "Israel is also holding 70 Palestinian female prisoners, 7 lawmakers, as well as two former ministers," the ministry added
