UN Yemen envoy meets with Ansarullah, GPC delegations


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, June 5 (KUNA) -- The United Nation's (UN) Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmad met Sunday with the delegations of Ansarullah movement and the General People's Congress (GPC) in Kuwait, to discuss various pressing issues on the agenda of ongoing peace talks.

The meeting will tackle the latest security, political and economic developments in the war-torn nation, in addition to potential solutions to the raging conflict.

Moreover, a special committee dealing with the plight of detainees is set to convene later on Sunday to discuss the imminent release of detainees.

The committee on Saturday had vowed to remedy this humanitarian issue, while the UN Special Envoy for Yemen said that he hoped all sides would remain committed. (end) am.nam
