(MENAFNEditorial) An immigrant from Northern Italy, Elena Gianformaggio now lives in the U.S. She brought with her three important things: her husband, her cats and her skills in the kitchen.
“I have always cooked for my family, and I now cook for my family and friends. Everyone who has had my cooking has said the same thing: I need to market my dishes to everyone in the U.S.,” said Elena. Growing up, Elena was beside her mother, learning and honing her skills in the kitchen. When she was 11, the first thing she learned was how to prepare a dessert, the “chocolate salami”. Its gets its name from resemblance to Italian cured sausage, but there’s no meat inside. In U.S. she started her own Italian catering company, and in the company, she created the new brand “TUBO Italian Chocolate Salami” for this special old fashioned Italian dessert. “TUBO in Italian language means pipe, just like my chocolate salami shape,” said Elena. Each TUBO is an artisanal product, made from scratch with natural ingredients, and without preservatives, just like good Italian cooking. TUBO needs to be refrigerated, or the chocolate will melt. It is the melting effect that made so many fall in love with this “chocolate salami”. TUBO made its way into a few grocery stores in and around south Florida and then made its way all the way to Dallas, Texas. Elena’s customers insisted the “TUBO chocolate salami” needed to go into national stores. For Elena it made good sense. So far,TUBO chocolate Salamiis doing exceptionally well, too well in fact, and Elena Gianformaggio needs to expand to accommodate the increased demand.
