EU, Iran join forces to tie their energy networks

(MENAFN) Iran has just revealed its complete readiness to join European electricity grid, as it's currently cooperating with seven neighboring countries in import, export and exchange of electricity, based on recent reports.

Recently, an agreement was reached to connect Iranian and Russian electricity grids via transmission lines of Armenia, Georgia and Russia; hence the Republic is now linked with Armenia through two transmission lines.

The Islamic Republic has also struck a deal with Azerbaijan Republic in order to reach the Russian power grid through the neighboring country, let alone the ongoing talks with inner states to connect the power grids via undersea cables.

Basically, European countries are desperately pursuing to establish connections in the power segment with other neighboring countries, therefore the electricity prices throughout central and northern Europe are very low.
