Jeddah, Sha'ban 29, 1437, Jun 5, 2016, SPA -- Prime Minister of Bangladesh Shaikha Hasina Wajed received at her guest residence in Jeddah today Secretary General of the Jeddah-based Organization of Islamic Cooperation Iyad bin Amin Madani.
Following the meeting, Madani told SPA that the meeting provided a chance to present the work being done by OIC to Her Excellency, last of which was the Islamic extraordinary summit held in Jakarta as well as the ordinary summit in Istanbul, resulting in the establishment of a new food security panel.
He said the meeting also dealt with the forthcoming summit on science and technology and highlighted the OIC initiative to hold a reconciliatory meeting for the political foes in Iraq, and a meeting for Afghanistan scholars to be held in Makkah and Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah.
Madani said the meeting conveyed to Hasina the OIC interest to bring an end to the refugee influx into Bangladesh coming from Myanmar and Burma.
The meeting was attended by the Bangladeshi ambassador to the Kingdom Abdullah bin Hajjaj Al-Mitairi and Hasina's official accompanying delegation.
