(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON, June 4 (KUNA) -- The US-led coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS) launched 25 airstrikes in Syria and Iraq on Friday, the Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in its daily report.
In Syria, 12 airstrikes targeted the group's facilities and equipment near Manbij and Mar'a, the report showed. In Iraq, 13 airstrikes targeted IS facilities and equipment near Fallujah, Habbaniyah, Mosul, and Tal Afar.
The Coalition maintained that a single airstrike "means one or more kinetic events that occur in roughly the same geographic location to produce a single, sometimes cumulative effect for that location," as indicated in the report. (end) ak.ibi
