UAE- Qatar: 11 killed in fire at worker accommodation

DOHA, 3rd June 2016 (WAM) --- Eleven people were killed and 12 others injured in a fire that broke out late Wednesday in housing for laborers working on a tourism project in Qatar.

The state Qatar News Agency said that civil defence teams put out the fire which erupted in housing used by one of the companies working on the Salwa tourism project in Al Areeq area in the south of the country.

It said that 12 people were hospitalised.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
