Doha: Moroccan player Idris Fotouhi will play for Al kharaitiyat in the next Qatar Stars League season, Nasser Al Saadi, deputy Head of football at Al Kharaitiyat confirmed on Tuesday.
Fotouhi joined the club from Ajman Club of the United Arab Emirates and the club officials expect he will be a great addition to the Kharaitiyat line up in the 2016/2017 season. Fotouhi played his last three seasons at Ajman and signed the contract on Tuesday, in the presence of Sheikh Khalifa bin Thamer Al Thani, chairman of Al Kharaitiyat club and Moussa Mansour Head of football.
Nasser Al Saadi said: “The newly contracted player will replace Hassan Abdel Fattah, who left Kharaitiyat after the season ended. We will sign other players as well to replace Asear and Yahia Kebe. Domingos will be returning to the team next season.”
Al Saadi added that the player Idris Fotouhi would be one of the most important players of the Qatar Stars League in the new season because of the technical capabilities he possesses as a midfielder.
He also pointed out that the club’s management is making every effort to strengthen the team in the preparation for the 2016/2017 season and that the contract with Fotouhi is a step toward strengthening the team and they are also looking to make some local signings as well.
Fotouhi, 27, was born September 30, 1989 in Casablanca, began his career at Club Casablanca Wydad before joining Ajman. He also represented Morocco at the 2012 London Olympics.
