Jordan- Government Coordinator for Human Rights meets NDI President


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, May 31 (Petra) -- Government Coordinator for Human Rights, Basel Tarawneh, Tuesday, met President of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Kenneth Wollack, for talks on promoting human right system.

During the meeting, Tarawneh, reviewed the government's programs and work mechanism towards enhancing the human rights system in the Kingdom.

He also pointed to future programs and training schemes that were implemented in cooperation with the NDI.

Jordan has made significant steps to support human rights, including key reforms legislation and policies, said Tarawneh.

Wollack, in turn, commended King Abdullah's efforts in supporting democracy. He also praised the launch of the national human rights plan.
