Oman- Winners of Financial Analysis Challenge awarded at ceremony

The Financial Analysis Challenge (FAC) concluded with the announcement of winners at the Grand Hyatt Muscat on Sunday. Instituted by the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) in collaboration with Sultan Qaboos University, the competition is designed to give students a chance to apply their financial skills by analysing a company listed on MSM.

Held under the patronage of H E Yahya bin Said al Jabri, chairman of Duqm Special Economic Zone Authority (SEZAD) and chairman of Capital Market Authority, the closing ceremony was attended by officials from MSM, brokerage firms, investment companies, industry representatives and academics from various colleges and universities in Oman. H E Jabri said, 'We are very happy to honour these students who gave some brilliant and unique ideas. It is heartening to see the next generation showing such enthusiasm.'

'Five teams made it to the final round of the challenge,' said an official at the event, adding that the competition received an overwhelming response. As many as 175 students from 11 universities and colleges from the country participated in the challenge.
