Meeting discusses challenges faced in marketing Omani products

H E Dr Ali bin Masoud bin Ali al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry, met a number of factory representatives at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) recently.

The meeting was held to discuss challenges and obstacles in promoting Omani products in the domestic and international markets and ways to globalise them, stated a press release. H E Eng Ahmed Hassan al Dheeb, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Hilal Hamad al Hassani, CEO, Public Establishment For Industrial Estates and Ayman Abdullah al Hassani, deputy chairman of OCCI for economic affairs and branches attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed mechanisms and methods of displaying Omani products in large shopping malls in the domestic market and the challenges facing the products.

It also emphasised on strengthening positive relationship between factories and centres of retail sale such as supermarkets and hypermarkets. The owners of factories said that Omani products have the ability to compete with other brands if they are marketed using the right methods, the release added.
