Brookline College announced today that it will offer a new Dialysis Technician diploma program at its Tempe, Arizona, campus location. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of healthcare occupations is expected to grow 19% through 2024, which is ''much faster than the average for all occupations.'' Brookline''s new Dialysis Technician diploma program prepares students to take the entry level CCHT (Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technicians) exam. Course topics include the history of dialysis, patient vascular access, diet and nutrition and equipment set-up such as water testing in the dialysis clinical setting. Students will also learn the psychological effects of kidney disease to include kidney transplantation. The program is designed to be completed in as little as 39 weeks and includes an externship that students complete in a clinical environment.
