Kuwait signs USD 4.4bn with Turkey for airport project

(MENAFN) Kuwait signed a USD 4.4bn contract with Turkish firm 'Limak Construction' for a new airport project, which will triple passenger capacity.

Furthermore, the terminal which will be completed in six years will raise capacity at Kuwait's only airport to 25mn passengers annually from almost 7mn recently.

On the other hand, it will accommodate total aircrafts types at 51 gates, an addition of 30 new gates, and will be able to serve 21 Airbus 380 superjumbos.

However, the project has been delayed many times due of claims of highly inflated costs after technical and financial objections by state.
