UN Envoy meets parties involves in Yemeni conflict


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, May 30 (KUNA) -- The UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmad met with representatives of Ansarullah movement and General People's Congress (GPC) to discuss main topics in the UN-sponsored Yemeni peace talks held in Kuwait.

The meeting, held on Monday, discussed the two sides' views on resuming political dialogue, applying the articles of signed agreements, releasing prisoners, arms embargo and withdrawal of armed forces.

The UN envoy is also set to meet with a delegation of the Yemeni government later today to discuss the same issues.

Meanwhile, Yemeni clashing parties will meet on Tuesday to discuss the lists of prisoners' names received by the UN yesterday, in preparation to release the detainees in coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). (end) am.ag
