Egypt trade volume with African countries hits USD 2.3bn


(MENAFN) The volume of trade between Egypt and the Common Market of Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) reached USD 2.3bn in 2015.

Additionally, the trade exchange between both countries was only USD 169mn in 1997, while Egypt's exports to the COMESA countries touched USD 1.7bn in 2015.

On the other hand, COMESA countries' imports to Egypt posted USD 593mn through the cited year, especially in raw and feeding materials.

The COMESA involves 19 nations; Egypt, Libya, Sudan, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Comoros, Madagascar and other countries.
