Gargash heads UAE delegation to UK-GCC meeting

JEDDAH, 29th May 2016 (WAM) --- Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, today headed the UAE delegation to the fifth UK-GCC strategic dialogue, which began today in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The meeting was co-chaired by Saudi Foreign Minister, Adel Al Jubeir, who chairs the current session of the GCC Foreign Ministers Council, and UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond.

Foreign ministers of GCC members, and GCC Secretary-General, Abdul Latif Al Zayani, participated in the meeting.

They discussed ways of bolstering relations between the GCC bloc and the UK in various spheres.

They also exchanged views on the situation in Yemen, Syria, Iran, Libya, Iraq and Palestine, and the fight against terrorism, as well as other regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Minister Gargash also participating in the 139th session of meetings of the GCC foreign ministers.
