(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, May 29 (KUNA) -- The UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmad received from the Yemeni government Sunday lists of prisoners held by Ansarullah movement and General People's Congress (GPC).

The lists were handed to the UN envoy by the committee for prisoners, detainees, and those placed under house arrest as part of the ongoing UN-mediated intra-Yemeni peace talks in Kuwait.

In a joint session Sunday, the committee discussed its principles and work measures with the Yemeni government delegation, with participation of experts from both sides, and reviewed efforts to release prisoners in coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The Ansarullah movement and GPC delegations are to submit their remarks regarding the lists next Tuesday. (end) hrz.nma.ma
