Turkey- 40,000 Syrian families flee Daesh attacks on Aleppo
(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) >The Daesh terrorist group’s attacks on Aleppo’s Azaz district have forced 40,000 families to flee their homes, a humanitarian relief official said.
Ahmed Khatib, an official at IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, said on Saturday that al-Hilal camp is full, while half of the refugees at the Sijju camp have left it.
“Refugees in this area originally had fled Daesh attacks a month and a half ago on al-Haramain camp in eastern Aleppo,” Khatib said. “Since the attacks intensified, half of the refugees in Sijju camp had to flee Daesh’s random shelling.”
Khatib added that after Daesh took control of Kafr Kalbin and Jibrin villages, Mari district has been under siege by Daesh and the PYD terrorist group.
Daesh took control of a number of villages in eastern and southern Azaz and managed to cut supply lines to Mari district and other areas that remained under the opposition’s control in Aleppo’s northern countryside.
