Kuwait- Farwaniya Governor: Arab towns boast august heritage


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MANAMA, May 29 (KUNA) -- Farwaniya Governor Sheikh Faisal Al-Humoud Al-MaleK Al-Sabah said on Sunday Arab towns bear a great historical heritage that should be spared swift changes, mainly fast-track modernization.

Speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of the 17th conference of the Arab Towns Organization (ATO), which kicked off in Manama earlier today, Faisal said: "We all aim at achieving sustainable development and modernizing towns with a view to ensuring public welfare." He added that Kuwait and Bahrain share many commonalities at both official and unofficial levels in various realms, appreciating Bahrain's efforts for hosting the conference which brings together heads of governors of Arab towns.
