Tunisia environmental poverty values 2.7 percent of GDP


(MENAFN) Environmental issues in Tunisia deteriorated notably since 2011, due to strikes in the sector of waste management, which stresses the authorities struggling to enforce the law.

Moreover, the cost of environmental degradation in the country is estimated at 2.7 percent of GDP.

According to the law, the country has the right to a healthy and balanced environment and participation in environmental protection.

In addition, the state is responsible for offering ways to fight against pollution, while the creation of an authority of sustainable development still not effective.
