Ghana bids on tourism to lift economy


(MENAFN) Ghana has come to realize the sheer potential of the tourism industry to sustain the country's economy, thus serve as its backbone, according to the latest reports.

Basically, the essence of tourism is to create wealth and redistribute the wealth and therefore many local businesses are redirecting their businesses to help support the industry.

Major tourist destinations of Ghana include a warm, tropical climate year-round; diverse wildlife; exotic waterfalls such as Kintampo Waterfalls and the largest waterfall in West Africa, Wli Waterfalls.

In particular, tourism is the fourth highest earner of foreign exchange for the African Republic, and as of last year, Ghana ranks as the 54th"most peaceful country in the world.
