Cairo, Sha'ban 21 , 1437, May 28, 2016, SPA -- Arab League Council of Arab Foreign Ministers has rejected any military intervention in Libya, which, it said, might cause severe consequences on the country and the region as a whole.
In a resolution at the conclusion of the council's extraordinary session held today, the Council called on all states not to interfere in the internal affairs of Libya, including supply weapons to armed groups and to refrain from using the media to incite violence and trying to undermine the political process.
It stressed the need to confront terrorism decisively and support for the Libyan army in the fight against all terrorist organizations, classified by the United Nations as so.
The Council welcomed the start of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Reconciliation to the Libyan Government of National Reconciliation works from the capital Tripoli, adding that its decision No. 4 in 2016 to form a government of national reconciliation is an important step towards the implementation of the Libyan political terms of the agreement, which was signed in the city of Al-Skhirat, Morocco.
