UAE- Amal Al Qubaisi receives speaker of Jordan's House of Representatives

DUBAI, 27th May 2016 (WAM) - Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council (FNC) received at Dubai International Airport on Thursday Atef Al Tarawneh, Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives (HoR) and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, Dr. Al Qubaisi and Al Tarawneh discussed ways to enhance relations in a way that will meet aspirations of the leadership in the two countries for furthering cooperation among the two legislative bodies.

The meeting was attended by Abdul Aziz Al Zaabi, Second Deputy Speaker of the FNC and other members and officials.

Dr. Al Qubaisi welcomed Al Tarawneh and extended congratulations to the leadership, government and people of Jordan on the occasion of independence day anniversary.

The two sides referred to the important outcome of the meeting held earlier this month in Amman between FNC and HoR which highlighted the importance of exchanging visits and expertise in parliamentary practices, as well as coordination in various issues, such as the Palestinian cause, the Syrian refugees issue and its impact on host countries, combating terrorism and extremism and enhancing peace in Muslim communities.

Al Tarawneh praised his country's progressive relations with the UAE and expressed appreciation to the UAE's continuous support in all fields, thanks to the keen directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
