DER BEIRGARTEN TO HOST FUNDRAISER FOR HOSPITAL THAT SAVED OWNERS LIFE

(MENAFNEditorial) Sacramento, CA – May 24, 2016 Der Biergarten, a Midtown Sacramento hotspot dedicated to serving authentic German beer, food, and camaraderie, will be hosting a fundraising event on May 26th in honor of the health care unit that saved the owner’s life this time last year.

Sean Derfield, owner of Der Biergarten in Midtown, Sacramento and River City Saloon in Old Sacramento, was hit by a Sacramento light rail train in May 2015, and required surgery and care in the ICU for 3 weeks post-accident. With the one-year anniversary approaching, Derfield wanted to thank the firefighters who cut him out of his truck, and the doctors and nurses who swiftly saved his life. “I owe my life to these selfless individuals who collaborated and saved my life,” said Derfield. “That’s why on May 26th, we will be donating 100% of sales at Der Biergarten to the UC Davis Department of Surgery.

The UC Davis Department of Surgery supports research-based, multidisciplinary surgical approaches, outstanding patient care and treatment, and a training program that ensures superb care for future generations.

From 3:00PM until close on May 26th, Der Biergarten will be donating 100% of sales to the department to help fund their lifesaving operation. “This event is a reflection on what life is all about – it’s about living, enjoying, and spending time with the people who matter most,” said Derfield. Der Biergarten is located at 2332 K Street, Sacramento, CA 95816.
