Oman- Seminar focuses on promoting insurance culture in GCC

The 12thtechnical seminar for GCC Pension and Social Insurance Authorities concluded on Wednesday.

The theme of the two-day seminar was 'The Role of Media in Promoting Insurance Culture' and it opened under the auspices of H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Civil Service.

Organised by the Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI) in collaboration with the GCC Secretariat General, the first session of the seminar on Tuesday covered topics such as perception, institution's goodwill.

PASI's experience in enhancing social insurance culture was also discussed. The second session included a panel discussion on the social insurance and pension culture (Challenges and Reality). On Wednesday, topics such as social networkingplatforms, cybersecurity and crisis management were also discussed.

The seminar was held to develop a standard GCC strategy for social insurance and pension in a bid to promote insurance culture in the GCC countries.

The aim is to also enhance cooperation among media organisations of social insurance and pension authorities in the GCC countries on one hand and the local and Gulf media on the other hand.
