(MENAFN) South Korean construction firms have witnessed its local orders increase 35 percent in April as opposed to last year's corresponding month, according to the latest reports.

The Construction Association of Korea domestic stated that builders received USD10.3 billion in April, and this jump was mainly driven by a continued recovery in the local property market.

The developers have gotten a bunch of plant orders from refiners and private power generators this year, basically USD2.4 billion came from the public sector and the rest from the private sector.

The domestic orders are projected to touch a record high on the back of rising public sector contracts as the government enforces its extra budget and pushes for social overhead capital spending.
