Doha: An Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) delegation visited Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disabilities, a member of Qatar Foundation for Social Work, as part of visits to social institutions before and during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

With the spirit of compassion being central to Ramadan, AZF organised the visit to demonstrate its commitment to the local community by reaching out to social institutions to spread joy among children, families and the elderly.

The centre provides specialised services in accordance with global best practices to help individuals with disabilities achieve maximum independence. AZF’s team visits also help spread awareness about people living with disabilities.

The visit was arranged as the centre’s academic year ends soon.

Officials of the centre took the delegation on a tour of departments and units that offer behaviour analysis services; evaluation and diagnosis; social services; and counselling to students and their parents to strengthen the learning process for students and assist them and their families with psychosocial and social adjustment.

The delegates also visited classrooms and met supervisors and children who received sports-themed tokens and gifts.

The team reassured the centre that AZF’s doors are open to their students, who are always welcome to practise physical activity and sports at its fully equipped and accessible facilities.
