UN Environment Assembly's meeting commences in Kenya


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NAIROBI, May 23 (KUNA) -- The second meeting of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA) kicked off in Kenya Monday with the participation of 193 countries including Kuwait.

The five-day meeting will discuss the environmental impact of the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the effects of chemical substances and marine plastic waste, the coordination between the UN Environment Program (UNEP) and multilateral agreements, in addition to other key issues.

Kuwait, which has been a member in UNEP since its establishment in 1972, will be represented by Director General of the Environment Public Authority (EPA) Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.(end) ms.ag
