3rd Qatar Construction Specifications forum starts today


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: The third Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) conference starts today at Torch Doha Hotel, under the patronage of Minister of Municipality and Environment H E Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi.

Dr Mohamed bin Saif Al Kuwari, Assistant Undersecretary for Laboratories and Standardisation Affairs at the Ministry, said in statement to QNA that the conference will discuss some of the requirements and standards of Qatar, especially with regard to raw materials used in roads, such as the limestone or gabbro building blocks and washed sand used in buildings.

He said the conference comes one year after Qatar Construction Specifications 2014 came into force. Al Kuwari said QCS is now on the ASTM International database to become an international reference for hot and humid regions in the world.

He said all companies in Qatar are applying QCS’s rules for buildings projects, roads, infrastructure and in the construction industry.
