Kuwait- Arab permanent media committee commences 87th meeting


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, May 22 (KUNA) -- The Arab permanent media committee started its 87th ordinary session on Sunday to prepare for the upcoming 47th meeting of the Arab Information Ministers' Council to be held next Wednesday.

"The current meeting comes in a critical time where the Arab World is facing multiple regional and international challenges," said Undersecretary of Saudi's Ministry of Culture and Information Abdulmohsen Elias in a speech.

The meeting will focus on boosting cooperation between Arab media bodies and Arab media's efforts on the international level, he noted.

Meanwhile, he said the committee will discuss the Palestinian Cause, fighting terrorism, sustainable development, and topics related to the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat).

On her part, Arab League Assistant Secretary-General for Media Affairs Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh said the meeting will discuss honoring winners of the "Arab Media Day" prizes, reporters who were killed in conflict zones while executing their duties and media organizations. (end) mfm.ag
