Aspiring Omani realtors intern at Tibiaan

Three young Omani women had the opportunity to intern at the offices of well-known real estate brokerage firm Tibiaan Properties, garnering valuable insights and skills for a promising upcoming career.

Jalila al Husaini, Aisha al Balushi and Hanna al Balushi recently completed a month's internship at the reputable property services firm, coming away with learnings and hands-on training. All three trainees were deputed by the Manpower Ministry's Vocational Training Centre to train at Tibiaan Properties as part of an initiative by the government to co-opt private firms in supporting the training needs of young Omanis preparing to join the labour market.

For Tibiaan Properties, the internships were a demonstration of its keenness to support the professional development of nationals preparing to play their part in nation-building and economic progress. This stems from the company's commitment to serving as a responsible corporate citizen, as well as championing the professional development of the Omani workforce.

Tahra al Ajmi, corporate affairs manager of Tibiaan Properties, commented, 'This training support is consistent with our strategy to nurture the professional growth of Omanis. As part of this commitment, we will also strive to provide employment opportunities to individuals and business support to entrepreneurs. We appreciate and support the Ministry of Manpower on its initiative to encourage young Omanis to take up jobs as well as provide them with an opportunity to develop and hone their skills.'

During the month-long internship, the young trainees were rotated through the different departments of Tibiaan Properties, encouraging them to pick up nuances of working. 'It was an instructive time for me at Tibiaan as I developed new skills and learned to cope with the challenges of a professional work environment,' said Aisha. 'The importance of customer services, the techniques of making a sale or rental decision and the skills of negotiating a deal were all part of a valuable, month-long training experience.'

Hanna stated, 'I greatly benefited from the opportunity to work in various sections of Tibiaan, including Sales & Leasing, Property Management, Finance and the Front Office.
