Morocco inflation rate declines to 1.6 percent


(MENAFN) Morocco's consumer price inflation dropped to reach 1.6 percent in April from 1.8 percent in March as food prices dropped.

However, annual food inflation declined to 2.9 percent from 3.6 percent in the previous month, while non-food price inflation increased to 0.5 percent.

Additionally, transport costs declined by 1.1 percent, while education, hotels and restaurants were 2.1 percent more expensive.

Meanwhile, the consumer price inflation fell down to 0.1 percent in the cited month, down from 1 percent in March.
