(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Aircraft manufacturer Airbus said in a statement that its A320 is the most secure aircraft model with 12,499 orders and 7,020 deliveries to date.
The first A320 entered service in 1988. In April 2016, over 10m passengers travelled on board A320 models, with more than 2.5m passengers per day. To date, the entire fleet has accumulated nearly 180m flight hours across over 98m flights.
The A320 single-aisle jetliner family (composed of the A318, A319, A320, and A321) is the world's best-selling single-aisle aircraft family, with 6,713 aircrafts on firm order.
The Airbus A320 model achieved a reliability of operation rate estimated at 99.7%.
