UAE&# s winter aid campaign concluded in Lebanon

BEIRUT, 20th May, 2016 (WAM) The Emirati Winter Relief Campaign for the Syrian Refugees for 2016 concluded today, following distribution of food parcels to 457 Syrian and Lebanese families in Lebanon's Iqlim El Kharroub by the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) Authority, in collaboration with the Lebanese Relief and Humanitarian Aid Organisation (Dar Al-Fatwa).

Mussalam Al Mansouri, Director of the Office of the Humanitarian Assistance Attache at the UAE Embassy in Beirut, said that by the end of the campaign, which started on 27th January, over 56,000 Syrian, Lebanese and Palestinian families benefited from the aid given through the campaign.

He added that preparations were on to launch a new campaign to provide Iftar meals and Eid Al Fitr clothing to the needy people during the holy month of Ramadan.

He thanked the partners from the UAE and Lebanon, who contributed to the success of the winter campaign.
