Oracle fights Google with its own Android OS

(MENAFN) By Oracle's estimate, Android has made USD42.35bn for Google between 2008-15, mainly on the back of selling ads, let alone that in Jan, court documents showed that Oracle valued Android generated USD31bn for Google.

Basically, this is all part of the California-based giant's lawsuit to convince a jury to make Google pay billions of dollars in damages over Android, as the two tech behemoths have been in court this month in the final leg of a multiyear lawsuit.

In the previous phases of the lawsuit, Google was found to have copied 32 application programming interfaces (APIs) from another popular language called Java, which is owned and operated by Oracle after acquiring Sun Microsystems.

Oracle is expected to ask for 8.8bn in damages, and that's why it's arguing that Android has made so much money for Google, plus if Oracle wins, Google would have to pay fines that are greater than what Oracle paid to buy Sun to begin with.
