Oman Energy and Water Exhibition and Conference to attract over 100 firms

The Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) in collaboration with Omanexpo will be organising a three-day event titled, Oman Energy and Water Exhibition and Conference at the Oman International Exhibition Centre from Monday.

The opening ceremony will be held under the auspices of H E Mohammed bin Salim bin Said al Toobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs, stated a press release.

Around 300 people are expected to take part in the conference and 100 local and international firms from energy, water and sanitary sectors will take part in the exhibition. The conference will highlight sultanate's efforts in boosting investment opportunities in water and energy sectors and discuss a number of current topics such as effect of oil price slump on electricity and water sectors, investments in renewable energy field, management of water and sanitary drainage network, as well as means of rationalising water and energy consumption.

The conference will also dwell on the future of energy in the sultanate, power generation and use of strategies, renewable and alternative energy applications, as well as sustainable management of water in the sultanate.

A number of public, private organisations and electricity and water associations in the GCC states will take part in the conference and the exhibition. Eight SMEs will also take part in the exhibition as per the Royal Orders of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to develop the SME sector. A number of Sultan Qaboos University students will also display their projects in the fields of electricity and water.
