Qatar- Cabinet reviews ministries' programmes and plans


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at the Emiri Diwan yesterday.

Following the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud said the Cabinet reviewed topics on the agenda and took decisions and measures.

The Cabinet reviewed programmes, plans and mechanisms developed by the ministries in implementation of the mandates and directives contained in the speech of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the opening of the 44th ordinary session of the Advisory Council, and decided that competent authorities will take necessary follow-up measures for implementation of those programmes, plans and mechanisms. The Cabinet approved a draft law amending some provisions of the Military Service Law issued by Decree-Law No. 31 of 2006 and decided to refer it to the Advisory Council.

The draft law identifies the cases in which the military officer may be granted special leave.

The Cabinet also approved a draft decision of the Minister of Economy and Commerce, establishing sections in the administrative units that comprise the ministry and its terms of reference. The Cabinet approved the hosting of the 16th Annual Conference of Arab Administrative Development Organisation in Doha from November 27 to 29.

The Cabinet then endorsed a draft cooperation agreement in policing area between Qatar and South Africa; a draft air services agreement between Qatar and Djibouti; a draft air services agreement between Qatar and Mozambique; a draft air services agreement between Qatar and Tanzania; a draft air services agreement between Qatar and Trinidad and Tobago; and a draft cooperation agreement in the field of environmental and nature protection between Qatar and Croatia.
