UAE- ERC to establish a camp for Syrian refugees in Greece

ABU DHABI, 18th May, 2016 (WAM) -- The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, is setting up a camp for Syrian refugees in Greece, where the authority has initiated the necessary arrangements for the establishment of the camp as quickly as possible due to the refugees' conditions.

The move follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the follow up of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and ERC Chairman.

The directives of the wise leadership aim to enhance the role of the Emirates Red Crescent, under the leadership of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in supporting the Syrian refugees.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan has highlighted the UAE's commitment to its global humanitarian mission toward those affected by crises and disasters around the world, on more than one occasion, especially for those affected by the Syrian crisis.
