Qatar- HIA customs inspectors foil drug smuggling attempt

Doha: The General Authority of Customs at Hamad International Airport HIA succeeded of confiscating 3.277 kg of marijuana inside passenger's bag.

The seizure was foiled by customs inspector, who discovered the marijuana in the passenger’ bag wrapped in carton paper. And the smuggler transferred to concerned authority.

Ahmed bin Ali Al Mohannadi, chairman of the General Authority of Customs, honored the inspector who was responsible for these this seizure, and he said that this came in light of the Authority’ efforts to detect the drug.

For his part, Ajab Mansour al-Qahtani, Customs General Director at HIA, said: “the Customs is providing their employees with continuous training in order to enhance their professionalism, and to curb illicit business activities.”.
