Kuwait- Yemeni peace talks continue Tuesday


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, May 17 (KUNA) -- The UN-sponsored Yemeni peace talks hosted by Kuwait continued holding a meeting for heads of delegations and another for subcommittees on Tuesday, to discuss key issues.

Representatives of the Yemeni government, the General People's Congress and Ansarullah movement met with the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed to discuss vital topics on security measures, political dialogue, the work of governmental institutions and withdrawal of armed groups.

Meanwhile, the subcommittee for prisoners' affairs will meet later today to discuss releasing POWs and detainees before the month of Ramadan.

On Monday, the UN envoy said in a press conference that Yemeni parties have primarily reached common ground regarding key issues, adding that participants are still working to agree on a peaceful solution to the conflict. (end) am.ag
